Abstract

Bernd Wagner is professor for primary school didactics focussing on the social sciences at the University of Leipzig. After graduating in educational science at the Free University of Berlin, he worked as a vocational school teacher and provided research in EU teacher training programmes. In addition to extensive project experience at schools, including for the German Children and Youth Foundation, Mr Wagner has coordinated international university cooperation for the departments of Intercultural Education and Anthropology and Education at the Free University of Berlin. At the University of Lüneburg, he worked on the didactics of subject teaching in the field of education for sustainable development. In Paderborn, he represented the professorship for primary school didactics with a focus on social sciences, and in Siegen he held the junior professorship for educational science with a focus on primary school lessons of social sciences and its didactics.
