The Middle East conflict in the context of changing global dynamics
The Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and the subsequent Israeli military offensives against the Gaza Strip have dashed hopes of peace in the Middle East for the foreseeable future and triggered a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza with over 40,000 deaths, causing worldwide shock. The planned series of events will examine the historical contexts of October 7, shed light on the complexity and contrasting perspectives on the roots and causes of the conflict and place developments in the Middle East in a wider regional context.
