Graduation ceremony
The central graduation ceremony offers a festive opportunity for all graduates to celebrate their successful graduation together across disciplines and to experience the sense of community at our university.
The focus of the program is the celebratory farewell by the rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Eva Inés Obergfell. The event is rounded off by the Leipzig University Music, a humorous poetry slam and short greetings. In addition, at the end of the event, a “final photo with a symbolic hat toss” will be taken as a lasting souvenir of the day, which we will provide to you free of charge.
The supporting program includes, among other things, the university shop, food and drink offerings and hands-on activities at stands in the New Augusteum. At photo stations in the foyer you can also have your photo taken with your guests and capture this moment as a memory.
Participation in the graduation ceremony is generally intended for graduates (Bachelor, Master, Diploma, Magister, State Examination) of the eligible semesters (winter semester 2023/24 and summer semester 2024). The registration deadline is August 30, 2024.
Since the space capacity in the Paulinum – Assembly Hall and University Church of St. Paul is limited, the event in the New Augusteum will also be broadcasted via live stream.
