We are looking for a committed personality with an internationally recognized research and publication record, who represents the subject of sports medicine in its entire range, both in research and teaching as well as in practical implementation. The candidate will be responsible for teaching sports medicine in the study program “Sports Science” (Teacher’s degree, Bachelor's and Master's degrees). Applicants have to be habilitated or provide proof of an equivalent academic qualification. A specialization in internal medicine, a completed residency and the additional qualification "Sports Medicine" (or an international equivalent) should be proven. A special commitment to research, teaching and further qualification is required. Interdisciplinary cooperation within the Sports Science Faculty as well as outside the faculty, especially with the Faculty of Medicine, is expected. Furthermore, a concept for the development of the professorship including its resources/equipment requirements and its networking with the Faculty of Medicine or the UKL (University of Leipzig Medical Center) is expected as part of a personal presentation. The applicant should contribute profitably to the Excellence Strategy of Leipzig University and participate in proposed collaborative projects. Strong acquisition of third-party funding is a prerequisite.
