National and International

The EU, the German Research Foundation, the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and other federal and state ministries all support world-class research projects.

Funding programmes at Leipzig University

With our funding programmes, we provide targeted support for research. We support both early-stage researchers and research groups with strategic tools to attract collaborative projects.

National Funding

Get advice on funding projects at the DFG, federal and state ministries as well as scholarships for doctoral students.

International Funding

We advise you on EU projects in the Horizon 2020 programme, ERC grants, and other international sources of funding.

Welcome Centre

We provide new international staff with advice and services on all aspects of planning and managing their stay.

The Volkswagen Foundation allows the involvement of refugee academics in projects that have already received funding.
