Abstract

Nicola Würffel has been Professor of German as a Foreign Language with a focus on didactics/methodology at the Herder Institute at Leipzig University since 2016. She previously held the professorship for Didactics of New Media at the PH-Heidelberg. Her research and teaching focuse on the digitalization of foreign language teaching (including blended learning, virtual reality), cooperative learning, learning strategies and the professionalization of prospective GFL/German as a second language teachers. Her methodological focus is on language teaching and learning as well as media didactics research.

She is co-editor of the series "Kolloqium Fremdsprachenunterricht" (Peter Lang) and "Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache. Schriften des Herder-Instituts" (Stauffenburg).

She is the delegated member of the University of Leipzig in the "AK-Elearning" of the LRK and an elected member of the speaker's committee there. She is also a member of the "Ombudskomission" of the University of Leipzig.
