Abstract

Erik Schilling is Professor of German Literature (19th–21st century).

Studied German, Latin and Italian philology in Munich, Pavia, Salamanca and Stanford. Postdoctoral researcher at Harvard, Munich and Oxford. Management consultant at McKinsey. Temporary professorships in Bern, Bielefeld and Munich. Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize and Heisenberg Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG), membership of the Junge Akademie (BBAW and Leopoldina). Scholarships from the Maximilianeum Foundation, the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the Humboldt Foundation, among others.
