Abstract
My research focuses on lab-on-a-chip technology as an enabling science to transform chemistry through miniaturization. This includes the development and application of a wide range of technologies in lab-on-a-chip research, such as a) miniaturized separation techniques like chip HPLC or chip electrophoresis, b) linking microfluidic chips with mass spectrometry and ion mobility spectrometry, or c) developing optical techniques like fluorescence and Raman microscopy. A particular focus in recent years has been on integrated chip laboratories, which combine chemical reactors and analytical units on a single chip.
