The Faculty of  Veterinary Medicine seeks to fill the mentioned professorship from 1 April 2025.

Academic context

Duties

The professorship is responsible for independently representing the field of pharmacology and toxicology as well as pharmacy in veterinary medicine in teaching, research and continuing education. The professorship is linked to the management of the Institute of Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Toxicology. In addition, active involvement in the projects and further conceptual development of the research priorities of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Leipzig University as well as close links with the Faculty's clinics and institutes are expected. 
The successful application must demonstrate extensive, preferably veterinary, teaching and examination experience in preferably as many areas of the subject discipline as possible. A teaching concept should be enclosed with the application. Experience in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding is required. Cooperation with other university and non-university institutions is also expected, especially in the context of third-party funded interdisciplinary research priorities (e.g. SFB1423). 
In addition to an outstanding research profile and excellent scientific qualifications, the candidate is expected to actively contribute to the continuation and expansion of the Institute's existing range of services, in particular VETIDATA. 
A research concept outlining the links between the proposed work of the applicant and the research priorities of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the University should accompany the application.
The duties also include participation in academic self-administration.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be internationally recognized in the above-mentioned field and have experience in the relevant pharmaceutical and drug regulatory law. Extensive teaching and examination experience in all areas of the specialist field as well as experience in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding are required. The applicant have a veterinary license and approval as a veterinary specialist in pharmacology and toxicology or an adequate diploma qualification. Proof of a habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements must be provided.
