Strategy

Our University views internationalisation as an interdisciplinary task that must permeate all areas of the University.

University and Faculty Partners

Boasting a multitude of partnerships with foreign universities, Leipzig promotes international cooperation in teaching and research. Bilateral university partnerships and our membership of the Utrecht Network are of particular importance.

Bilateral University Partnerships

We currently maintain bilateral agreements with 52 universities abroad.

Arqus – European University Alliance

Our university is part of the European University Alliance Arqus.

Stellenbosch-Leipzig University Partnership

Our university has been in close contact with Stellenbosch University in South Africa since 1997.

Graz-Leipzig Strategic University Partnership

Our university has been cooperating with the University of Graz for more than 30 years.

Utrecht Network

We are part of a group of European universities called the Utrecht Network.

Erasmus+

The European funding programme Erasmus+ offers our university a variety of opportunities in international higher education cooperation with partner countries and programme countries. At the core of the funding programme are study abroad experiences for students, lecturers and university staff.

You can enrol on a range of international degree programmes at Leipzig University. We also support international students in their transition to the German labour market and keep in touch with our alumni.
