The documentary film PICTURE A SCIENTIST deals with discrimination, sexism and racism in the scientific system.

Several examples will be shown of how women who research and teach in the natural sciences are still ignored in many ways and have to fight for respect and recognition throughout their lives. The film will be shown from 6pm–7.30pm. This will be followed by a discussion and networking session. The discussion will be moderated by Bernadett Bigalke, Junior Professor for Religious Studies and Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty of History, Art and Area Studies.

An event organised by the Department of Research and Transfer in cooperation with the Office for Equality, Diversity and Family Affairs and Leipzig Science Network. It is part of the Social Program of Skill's'n'Thrills Competence Days for Postdocs and Junior Professors.

The film will be shown in English with German subtitles. The discussion and networking session will be held in English.

The event is intended to provide a discussion room for all researchers interested in this topic. It is open to all genders.
