Writing projects can be quite a daunting challenge—in terms of content, language, and organization. To meet these goals, it can be helpful to collaborate in a group with other students who are in a similar situation. This writing group will provide you with the structure you need and the opportunity to discuss your project, exchange ideas, and answer any questions you might have after the writing period.

How will it work?
The first meeting will be on June 6. We will start by discussing your projects and your expectations for the writing group. Generally, the introduction of the meetings includes clarifying goals and potential difficulties, followed by around 2 hours of writing time. After the writing is completed, there will be a wrap-up and discussion of what went well and areas of opportunity for next time. Short presentations on specific language issues can be included upon group request. The writing group will meet weekly for five weeks—and, if desired, the group can continue to meet on its own thereafter.
